Who We Are
Sano is a rapidly expanding modern, fast-casual café with a vision to make clean, health-conscious food accessible and convenient for everyone. We are on a mission to demonstrate how simple, nourishing, and delicious a truly healthy diet can be.
Our teams are passionate and knowledgeable about everything we do—from our organic, fair-trade coffee beans and plastic-free, compostable packaging, to our chef-crafted recipes packed with the freshest produce, superfoods, and adaptogens. We strictly avoid seed oils, highly processed foods, and artificial flavors. We don’t believe in settling for anything less than the highest quality, purest ingredients.
With quick expansion underway in the Greater Seattle Area, Sano is changing the quick-service restaurant game. This is your opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role and grow your career alongside us.
The Role: Your Mandate
As the General Manager, you are the "CEO" of your specific Sano location. You are fully responsible for the store’s financial performance, local inventory control, and the recruitment and development of your team.
Sano Management Structure & Responsibilities Overview
We are an expanding, iterating brand. This means we are not looking for a passive manager to simply maintain a playbook. We need a flexible thinker with a solution-oriented mindset who is excited to put in the time to help Sano grow. At Sano, roadblocks are not frustrations; they are exciting opportunities to build, refine, and improve our operational systems.
Why This GM Role is Different (The Sano Support System)
At Sano, we do not believe in letting our GMs burn out. You will be supported by a highly structured, cross-location leadership team designed to help you succeed:
- Education Manager: Deploys digestible product-knowledge guides to your team and hosts weekly customer "Meet & Greets" to drive your local store traffic.
- Operations Execution Manager: Conducts regular safety audits, assists with frontline training completion, and handles emergency logistical crises (like sudden supply transfers or emergency coverage) so you can focus on running your business.
- Facilities Manager: Direct escalation path for physical plant repairs and equipment maintenance, supported by a daily preventative walkthrough system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial & Inventory Ownership
- P&L Management: Own your store's financial outcomes, driving top-line revenue while tightly controlling prime costs (labor and food cost variances).
- Inventory & Forecasting: Oversee the local ordering process, manage supplies, and forecast inventory needs to eliminate waste while preventing stockouts.
- Smart Labor Scheduling: Draft efficient staff schedules that meet the peak flow demands of a high-volume, fast-casual kitchen while respecting team member lifestyle balance.
2. Team Leadership & Onboarding
- Staffing & Onboarding: Recruit, hire, and successfully onboard top-tier local talent who align with Sano's health-conscious culture.
- Culture & Coaching: Lead, train, and counsel team members to create a highly collaborative, positive, and high-energy work environment.
- Shift Lead Mentorship: Coach your Shift Leads in daily operations, labor management assistance, and floor leadership.
3. Customer Experience & Community
- Local Hospitality Metrics: Monitor and elevate store-level guest satisfaction, reviews, and customer retention metrics.
- Community Engagement: Cultivate warm, authentic relationships with local guests to boost brand reputation and increase store loyalty.
4. Food Safety & Facilities Accountability
- Standard Enforcement: Ensure the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and security are maintained at all times.
- Preventative Maintenance: Oversee the daily execution of the Sano Daily Preventative Maintenance Checklist, troubleshooting basic issues and coordinating directly with our Facilities Manager for technical repairs.
What You Bring to the Table
- The Growth Mindset: You are a flexible, agile thinker who embraces change. When faced with an operational roadblock, your instinct is to solve it by designing or improving a system.
- Brand Champion: You are excited about the startup phase of a business. You are ready to put in the time and energy required to help Sano grow, adapt, and refine its brand.
- Experienced Leader: Previous café, restaurant, or fast-casual management experience is highly preferred (barista experience is a plus).
- Business Mindset: Strong organizational skills with a solid understanding of store financials, labor control, and inventory systems.
- Health Alignment: A genuine passion for healthy living and clean eating, with an eagerness to learn Sano’s sourcing standards so you can inspire your team.
- Dynamic Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal skills, Google Suite knowledge, and the ability to build high team morale.
