Part-Time Event Venue Representative
Hollywood, SC
Part-Time | Seasonal | Approximately 10–20 hours per week (primarily weekends)
Do you enjoy working in beautiful event spaces, solving problems, and being the calm, professional person everyone can count on?
Old Wide Awake is looking for a reliable, independent Venue Manager to oversee our venue during weddings and special events. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, interacting with people, and taking pride in keeping things running smoothly.
This is not a traditional management position. There are often long periods of downtime during events, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, staying attentive, and stepping in when needed.
What You'll Do
- Open and close the venue before and after events
- Welcome and assist clients, wedding planners, vendors, and guests
- Serve as the on-site venue representative throughout the event
- Answer questions and help resolve minor issues as they arise
- Ensure vendors are following venue policies
- Perform periodic walkthroughs to make sure the property remains clean, organized, and event-ready
- Handle small problems independently and know when to escalate larger issues
- Secure the property at the end of each event
We're Looking For Someone Who Is
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Professional and friendly with clients and vendors
- Calm under pressure and able to think on their feet
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable making simple decisions without constant direction
- Able to stay productive and attentive during slower periods
- Available to work evenings and weekends, especially during peak wedding season
Schedule
- Seasonal, part-time position
- Most shifts are evenings and weekends
- Approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on the event schedule
- Flexible schedule based on booked events
Experience
Previous experience in hospitality, weddings, customer service, event coordination, venue operations, or property management is helpful, but not required. We are happy to train the right person.
Why You'll Love It
- Work at one of the Lowcountry's most beautiful event venues
- Flexible seasonal schedule
- Independent work environment
- No two events are exactly alike
- Opportunity to be part of creating unforgettable weddings and celebrations
A Few Things to Know
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a slower-paced environment but is ready to jump into action when needed. Some events require very little involvement, while others may require quick problem-solving or coordinating with vendors. Being proactive, observant, and professional is far more important than being constantly busy.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
