Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Caregiver (Short-Shift) to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care and daily living support. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs and overall condition, reporting any changes promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, assisting with meal planning and cooking as required
- Maintain cleanliness of resident spaces through regular cleaning duties to promote a safe and hygienic environment
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards, including patient observations and progress notes
- Engage in meaningful social interactions to foster emotional well-being, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, and emergency procedures to ensure resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of dementia care, memory care, Alzheimer’s care, and hospice support techniques
- Hands-on experience with patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital sign measurement
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility support
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Home & Community Care or Nursing Assistant are a plus
