Compensation: $43+ for RN $33+ for LPN DOE

What You’ll Do
As a CODA RN in our OTP, you will play a critical role in patient care, medical coordination, and safe medication practices. Your day will include a blend of direct patient care, technical clinical tasks, collaboration, and supportive services.
Core Responsibilities

Welcome patients, verify information, and ensure each person is cared for with dignity and compassion.

Prepare patients for medical evaluation: vital signs, medication reconciliation, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting with medical history forms.

Schedule appointments, coordinate pre-admission needs, obtain consents, and prepare charts.

Provide exceptional customer service through front office duties—including phone support, patient greeting, and supply inventory.

Act as a liaison to coordinate care: request records, track progress, gather clinical information, and prepare reports.

Support medical staff by monitoring patient status, performing routine procedures, and documenting accurately in the EMR.

Administer injectable medications per LMP delegation and monitor patient response.

Participate as a valued member of the multidisciplinary care team.

Conduct PPD testing and urinalysis collections with rapid toxicology screening.

Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis or emergency situations.

Maintain clinical equipment and ensure a safe, clean, compliant environment.
Specialized OTP Responsibilities

Safely dispense OUD medications as prescribed and monitor for side effects.

Follow all OTP protocols, Physician Order Sets, and program policy and procedures.

Evaluate medical stability of established patients and escalate concerns to licensed medical staff.

Deliver patient care activities within scope, supporting the treatment plan and patient goals.

Required Education and Experience
- Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. Completion of an accredited nursing education program that includes at least 500 hours of direct patient contact.

Experience with substance use disorder or mental health population preferred but not required
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Demonstrated consistency in the application of “6 Rights” of medication administration.

Demonstrated understanding of and ability to adhere to established principles of patient safety.

Make judgments in practice, substantiated with evidence, that integrate nursing science in the provision of safe, quality care and that promote the health of patients within a family and community context.

Ability to utilize both oral and written communications skills to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, community resources, supervisors,
and various other individuals encountered in the course of performing work while maintaining client confidentiality and establishing professional rapport.

Ability to maintain professional communications and boundaries while managing complex situations and interacting with individuals diagnosed with substance use or co-occurring conditions.

Ability to operate a computer, utilize basic MS Office programs, and effectively navigate and maintain client records in an electronic medical records system.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
-
Current, unencumbered Oregon RN or LPN license.
-
Current Oregon or Washington driver’s license.
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to acquire within one month of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
-
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
-
Must be able to perform Basic Life Support for 15 minutes continuously and maintain BLS certification.

Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
-
Must be able to follow proper protocol while interacting directly with patients and working in a clinical environment.
-
Must be able to operate a personal computer, including reading from a computer monitor, keyboarding, and using a mouse.

Must be able to negotiate staircase, reach, bend, and handle objects.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
-
Knowledge of chemical dependency is required.

Consistent attendance and punctuality are required of this position.
-
Maintain current licensure by updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations.

A negative result on all pre-employment, reasonable basis, and post-accident drug screens.
-
An acceptable criminal record as determined by DHS, the Oregon Administrative Rules, and the Oregon Revised Statutes; and no current supervised parole or probation.

An acceptable driving record and the recommended amount of personal automobile insurance as determined by CODA’s automobile insurance provider.
