General Restaurant Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on General Restaurant Manager who is willing to take ownership of the day-to-day operational responsibilities that keep the restaurant running smoothly. This role is heavily focused on back-of-house operations, organization, inventory, ordering, cleanliness, food safety, prep, maintenance, and making sure the important details that often get overlooked are handled properly and consistently.
The ideal candidate is someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and not afraid to get their hands dirty. You should be comfortable working alongside the kitchen team, identifying problems before they become bigger issues, and taking responsibility for getting things done.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of daily back-of-house operations and ensure the kitchen is organized, clean, stocked, and running efficiently.
- Manage food and supply ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure products are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored.
- Control food waste, portioning, product usage, and food costs.
- Ensure prep is completed properly and on schedule.
- Maintain high standards for kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and food safety.
- Make sure equipment, storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and workstations are properly maintained and organized.
- Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them without waiting to be asked.
- Handle the day-to-day tasks that keep the restaurant functioning, including restocking, organization, cleaning, maintenance coordination, and operational follow-through.
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly and consistently.
- Monitor kitchen staffing and help coordinate BOH coverage when needed.
- Work directly with kitchen staff to maintain quality, consistency, efficiency, and accountability.
- Track and communicate maintenance, equipment, supply, and facility issues.
- Help establish and maintain systems that keep the restaurant organized and prevent tasks from being missed.
- Assist with scheduling and general restaurant operations as needed.
- Address guest or employee issues professionally and appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with health department, food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
- Work closely with ownership and management to improve systems, reduce costs, and keep operations running smoothly.
- Be willing to step in and perform hands-on restaurant duties when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Previous restaurant management experience preferred.
- Strong experience with back-of-house restaurant operations.
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
- Someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes care of it.
- Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation, inventory, ordering, and kitchen operations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Reliable, accountable, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple operational tasks and follow through.
- Comfortable working alongside kitchen staff rather than simply supervising from the sidelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and common sense.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
Pay: $3,600.00 - $4,000.00 per month
