Job description:
SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Operator is responsible for overseeing line equipment to make our pretzel bread products. The individual in this role will have an eye for quality and adhere to SQF, HACCP, and GMP standards.
PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists the Production Supervisor/Lead with managing workflows and appropriate staffing levels.
· Must be able to work 12 Hours as needed.
· Operates multiple production lines from set-up to shut down and sanitation.
· Ensures efficiency and maximizes run capacity and speed while at the same time ensuring the product is in spec.
· Physically moves, pushes, lifts, packs, stacks, and handles product, baking materials, and equipment.
· Observes the flow of the production line and identifies where help is needed, stepping into any position to provide support.
· Complete training related to food and personal safety as required.
· Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to stand and/or walk up to 100% of the time, work in a freezer, and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgement.
· Flexible and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to the needs of a 24-hour manufacturing environment.
· High level of critical thinking skills that allows for diagnosing equipment issues.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required
- 3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment, food production preferred.
- Experience operating production equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as a manufacturing plant with varying temperatures. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
· While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing in environments with varied temperatures. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
