We are a growing landscape construction company seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Estimator to join our team. We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prepare accurate, competitive estimates while managing multiple projects from bid through project handoff.
If you have experience estimating landscape construction, site work, irrigation, hardscape, or civil construction projects and are proficient with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new bid opportunities.
- Review plans, specifications, RFPs, and bid documents to prepare complete and competitive estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam and prepare estimates utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Maintain bid schedules, estimating files, and project documentation.
- Communicate with clients, general contractors, vendors, and internal staff throughout the estimating process.
- Ensure all bids are accurate, thorough, and submitted on time.
- Coordinate seamless project handoffs by providing complete project information and documentation to project managers and field crews.
- Review completed projects to improve estimating accuracy and processes.
- Assist in developing and improving estimating procedures to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of estimating experience in landscape construction, hardscape, irrigation, site work, or related construction fields (or 2+ years of relevant field experience).
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and estimating practices.
- Experience reviewing RFPs and defining project scope.
- Ability to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate subcontractor bids and vendor quotes.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates while meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient with Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

The successful candidate will:
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Be comfortable cold calling general contractors, developers, municipalities, and property managers to generate new bidding opportunities.
- Actively network and build relationships within the construction industry.
- Continually seek out new clients and projects to expand our customer base.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with general contractors, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Be confident representing Honey Cove Landscape in meetings, networking events, and pre-bid conferences.
- Have an entrepreneurial mindset and take pride in helping grow the company through new business opportunities.
