In this role, you will lead the design and evolution of enterprise solutions, guiding architecture strategy, data and cloud integration, and governance frameworks to support mission-critical decision-making and scalable technology solutions.
This is a mostly a remote position with some on-site requirement, offering flexibility and the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of talented professionals committed to technical excellence and meaningful impact.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to provide strategic and technical leadership aligned with our customer's mission objectives. The ideal candidate will drive enterprise and data architecture modernization, including cloud, infrastructure, and Azure-based integrations. Strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, and workflow automation is essential. The role requires a deep understanding of scalable, secure system design, along with experience in federal compliance standards such as NIST. The candidate should also demonstrate the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, manage technical risks, and deliver impactful analytics and data-driven solutions.
Responsibilities and Contributions:
- Provide enterprise and system architecture guidance aligned with business needs and objectives
- Develop and update enterprise architecture to support modernization of information management services and solutions
- Design and guide cloud, infrastructure, and network architectures to support scalable and secure systems
- Define and implement data architecture strategies, including data models, storage solutions, and analytics platforms
- Design and oversee Azure-based integrations, including services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and data services
- Proficiency in M365 governance framework design, hub-spoke site architecture, Power Platform architecture, and Azure AD/Entra ID
- Experience with data architecture roadmap development and cloud usage guidelines in a federal environment
- Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized M365 tenants and HHS IT security policy
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture, system design, and large-scale IT modernization efforts
- Evaluate computing environments and backend infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Support Security Assessment and Authorization activities and ensure compliance with NIST and federal standards
- Assess technology risks and recommend mitigation strategies, including integration and interoperability considerations
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with stakeholders, including SMEs, data scientists, and system designers
- Oversee development of process diagrams, workflows, and technical documentation
- Support integration of data visualization tools and delivery of analytics to stakeholders
- Produce the Migration Readiness Matrix classifying each asset for migration, reengineering, or retirement
- Develop and maintain data architecture strategies, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with HHS federal policy
- Provide cloud usage guidelines and implement architecture governance per OCIO standards
- Chair the quarterly Architecture Review Board (ARB) and present findings to program leadership
- Conduct business needs assessments with stakeholders to inform migration and modernization decisions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of enterprise architecture experience
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale SharePoint migrations (multi-site-collection scope, content migration, permission governance)
- Proficiency in M365 governance framework design, hub-spoke site architecture, Power Platform architecture, and Azure AD/Entra ID
- Experience with data architecture roadmap development and cloud usage guidelines in a federal environment
- Familiarity with FedRAMP-authorized M365 tenants and HHS IT security policy
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture, system design, and large-scale IT modernization efforts
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including integration services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Service Bus)
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise workflow and system integrations
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, data architecture, and distributed systems
- Experience with federal frameworks and standards, including NIST and security compliance requirements
- Expertise in data modeling, analytics, and handling large-scale datasets
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure design
- Strong understanding of networking, backend infrastructure, and performance optimization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams and bridge business and technical requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture framework credential
- Prior federal health agency experience
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53 security controls for cloud-hosted systems
- Experience with Microsoft Purview compliance tooling and Zero Trust security architecture
