Position Overview:
Homestyle Direct (HSD) is a rapidly growing Food-as-Medicine home-delivered meal provider serving Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries across the country. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Twin Falls, ID, HSD shipped over 6 million meals in 2023 and is projected to exceed $50M in revenue in 2024. With plans to open a second fulfillment facility in the Southeastern U.S., HSD is entering a transformative phase and seeking top-tier leadership to support continued growth.
We are seeking an HR Generalist who supports the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and policy implementation. This role serves as a trusted resource to employees and management, ensuring consistency, fairness, and adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws. The HR Generalist will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting the company’s mission, values, and goals.
This role is onsite, 5 days a week in Lewisburg, TN 37091. Ideal candidate will have bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer and coordinate all aspects of the employee lifecycle including recruiting, onboarding, training, and offboarding.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and EEO.
- Partner with management to handle employee relations matters, ensuring timely, fair, and consistent resolution in accordance with company policy.
- Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other programs.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate employee data maintenance in HR systems.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper documentation and policy acknowledgment.
- Support performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Generate HR reports and support audits or compliance reviews as needed.
- Support safety initiatives and workers’ compensation reporting and follow-up.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive HR experience or similar.
- Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, or similar).
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
