About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician who's equally comfortable in a warehouse prepping equipment, on-site installing hardware, and at a desk supporting users and working tickets. This isn't a "wait for the next site visit" role — between travel, you'll be actively prepping units, supporting the help desk, and keeping on top of back-office systems. If you like variety, take initiative without being told twice, and are genuinely comfortable with Windows 10, basic networking, and user account administration, this is a good fit.
Responsibilities
Prep & Installation
- Prep units before deployment: unpack, load paper, connect ethernet and power, install parts and accessories
- Set up and configure cassettes (unit relocation is handled separately — this role does not move units)
- Travel to sites for installs, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Coordinate and work directly with vendors on parts, service, and delivery issues
Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide help desk / remote support and manage tickets when not traveling
- Diagnose hardware, cabling, network, power, and peripheral issues
- Go out on call to assist with problem units and escalated site issues
- Work within Windows 10, manage user accounts, and pull/interpret back-office reports as part of routine support
Training & Customer Interaction
- Train site staff on hardware and software use
- Provide go-live support during installs or upgrades
- Document work clearly and communicate status to customers and internally
Required Skills
- Solid working knowledge of Windows 10 (imaging, configuration, troubleshooting) — not entry-level exposure
- Practical understanding of networking basics: IP configuration, ethernet, connectivity troubleshooting
- Comfort managing user accounts and navigating back-office/reporting systems
- Self-starter who stays productive without direct supervision — able to fill downtime with prep, tickets, or documentation rather than waiting for the next assignment
- Comfortable working in a standard office/help-desk environment as part of the role, not just in the field
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel for installs/upgrades/troubleshooting (roughly 6–12 trips/year)
Preferred
- A+ certification or equivalent hands-on IT/hardware background
- Experience with ATMs, kiosks, POS, or similar field-deployed hardware
- Prior field service, low-voltage, or help desk experience
- Experience working with vendors/third-party service providers
Schedule & Expectations
- This is a standard-hours role with occasional on-call support for problem units; overtime is not a routine or expected part of compensation
- Own travel arrangements for trips, expenses reimbursed
Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid time off
