Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks, to efficiently load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse. Your expertise in warehouse management systems, inventory control, and safety protocols will ensure smooth distribution operations. Duties
- Operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, lift trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments
- Manage inventory through barcode scanning and warehouse management systems to ensure accurate stock levels
- Pick orders using order picker equipment and manual handling techniques to fulfill customer requests efficiently
- Load and unload materials from trucks while adhering to OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols
- Conduct routine equipment repairs or report maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipment details and ensuring proper documentation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety standards in production and warehouse operations
Skills
- Proven experience operating various types of material handling equipment including reach trucks, forklift trucks, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while adhering to manual handling guidelines
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes such as order picking, load & unload operations, shipping & receiving
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry tasks
- Knowledge of forklift safety protocols (OSHA compliant) and warehouse safety standards in production environments
- Experience with materials handling equipment repair or troubleshooting is a plus
- Previous warehouse experience or supervision background is advantageous for understanding overall warehouse operations
