Overview
Stafflinx Recruiting is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse Unit Manager (RN Unit Manager) to oversee the clinical care and daily operations of an assigned unit. This leadership role ensures high-quality resident care, supports nursing staff, and maintains compliance with all NY State and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about long-term care excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the assigned nursing unit.
- Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other care staff.
- Conduct resident assessments, review care plans, and ensure accurate implementation.
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacy, therapy, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with EMR standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor resident conditions, respond to changes, and ensure timely interventions.
- Participate in and lead care plan meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage staff scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations for the unit.
- Ensure adherence to infection control practices, safety procedures, and facility policies.
- Serve as a clinical resource, role model, and mentor to nursing staff.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing.
- Prior unit management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide strong clinical guidance.
