We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated Personal Chef & Culinary Assistant to work directly with our Lead Chef. This multi-faceted role combines high-end in-home meal prep, client consultations, menu engineering based on culinary medicine, social media video/photography production, and digital cookbook development.

Key Responsibilities & Weekly Duties
Culinary Execution & Client Service
- Grocery & Specialty Sourcing: Shop efficiently for high-quality seasonal ingredients at Whole Foods Market, DeCicco & Sons, and local specialty markets. Keep grocery costs down and maintain meticulous receipt records.
- In-Home Prep & Cooking: Assist with custom meal preparation, culinary medicine menus, and specialized dietary meals in client homes and kitchen environments.
- Client Relations: Conduct regular client check-ins and consultations, providing warm, attentive, and personalized service.
- Kitchen Operations & Sanitation: Maintain rigorous kitchen cleanliness—washing pots, pans, tools, maintaining work areas, and managing garbage. Print daily menus and packaging labels.
- Fast-Paced Growth: This role is an assistant chef with a potential to a lead chef in 8 weeks after training.
- Assistant Chef Instructor: Demo and assist during live cooking class events.
- Uniform Standards: Wear a clean YCE chef jacket, black work pants, and black work shoes daily. Capable of lifting heavy grocery bags and kitchen equipment.
Recipe Development, Media & Digital Projects
- Culinary Medicine & Diets: Assist in developing and modifying recipes tailored to food allergies, therapeutic nutrition, and maternal nutrition. Training is available.
- Social Media & Content Creation: Shoot and edit clean, engaging photos and videos of meal prep and finished plating for brand social media platforms.
- Digital Cookbook Projects: Work on recipe development, testing, and formatting for upcoming digital cookbook releases and special culinary events.
- Home Prep Setup: Utilize home kitchen space (including auxiliary refrigeration) for testing recipes and supplemental prep work when required.
Weekly Schedule Breakdown
- Monday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM + travel): In-home client meal prep, cooking, packaging, and travel.
- Tuesday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM + travel): 4 hours cooking & client delivery + 2 hours menu development for the following week.
- Wednesday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM + travel): In-home client meal prep, cooking, packaging, and travel.
- Thursday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM): Remote or on-site: Recipe testing, creation, and video/photo content development for digital cookbook, events & media.
- Friday (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM): Remote or on-site: Recipe development/testing OR preparation for weekend culinary events.
- Weekend Events (Saturday or Sunday): When an event falls on a weekend, Thursday will be designated as your day off.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Location & Mobility: Must reside in Westchester or Putnam County, possess a valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle, and be comfortable driving up to 1 hour to client locations. Clients are in Scarsdale and surrounding areas in Westchester and Putnam County.
- Culinary & Health Alignment: Culinary school training and background with strong knowledge of food allergies, special diets, and therapeutic culinary medicine. Must lead a healthy, active lifestyle.
- Type-A Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills, double-checks work, takes pride in presentation, and maintains excellent grammar/spelling in client emails, labels, and menus.
- Content & Technical Skills: Proficient with smartphone video editing, photography, and capturing engaging social media content.
- Proactive Work Ethic: Self-starter who checks in regularly without needing micromanagement. Early riser with a "ready to conquer the day" attitude.
