Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, credit card processing, and giving correct change
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling orders, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring cleanliness in the food prep area
- Support food industry operations by bussing tables, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring food handling protocols are followed
- Upsell menu items or products to enhance sales opportunities while providing helpful recommendations to customers
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the café or quick-service environment, adhering to sanitation and safety regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math accuracy
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bussing tables or stocking supplies
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with POS systems like Aloha or Micros is a plus but training will be provided
- Culinary experience or kitchen background is advantageous for supporting food prep duties
