Position Overview
Polymer Industries is seeking a motivated, highly organized, and people-focused Human Resources Associate to join our team. This position is designed for someone who enjoys building relationships, supporting employees, and creating a positive workplace culture.
Unlike a traditional office-based HR position, this role requires spending approximately 75–80% of the workday on the production floor, engaging with employees, answering questions, providing support, and helping ensure new hires successfully transition into their roles. The administrative responsibilities are important, but employee engagement and retention are the primary focus.
The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, empathetic, professional, and comfortable interacting with employees throughout the facility every day.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Engagement & Retention
- Spend approximately 75–80% of each workday on the production floor interacting with employees.
- Build positive relationships with employees across all departments.
- Conduct frequent check-ins with new employees, especially during their first days and weeks of employment.
- Monitor employee morale and identify concerns before they become retention issues.
- Encourage open communication and serve as an accessible HR resource.
- Gather employee feedback and communicate concerns, suggestions, and opportunities for improvement to management.
- Help create a welcoming environment that supports long-term employee success and retention.
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and HR records.
- Manage resumes, employment applications, and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain the HR database and ensure employee information remains current.
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist with the distribution and tracking of employee training materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Protect sensitive employee information and maintain strict confidentiality.
QualificationsPreferred
- Previous Human Resources experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Must be comfortable walking throughout a manufacturing facility for the majority of the workday.
- Ability to remain active and on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to interact with employees in a production environment while following all required safety procedures.
