Overview
Join our accounting team as an Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk, where you will play a vital role in managing the company’s accounting transactions with precision and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to accurate accounting record-keeping, ensure timely processing of payments and receivables, and support the overall health of our accounting operations. Your expertise in both accounts payable and receivable processes will help us uphold compliance standards while delivering exceptional service for our automotive dealerships.
AP/AR experience is required and dealership experience is a plus!
Duties but not limited to:
- Reviews and posts receipts and payments to appropriate statements, ledgers, spreadsheets, records, and databases.
- Prepares, sorts, copies, files, and mails invoices, receipts, checks, correspondence, and other requested items.
- Reconcile credit card statements
- Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves for payment.
- Prepares accounts payable checks.
- Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
- Researches and processes charge backs, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad checks, and similar items.
- Answers accounts payable and receivable inquiries and follows up.
- Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted.
- Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are accurate and timely.
- Assist in monthly and annual closings.
- Monitors WEX Accounts and ensures purchases are accurate.* Enter parts and service invoices to be paid
- Maintain files for Resale Certificates of all dealerships and vendors
- Process & post driver’s checks
- Driver’s 1099 Forms
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entry preparation accurately.
- Strong numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel spreadsheets for data analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Demonstrated attention to detail in data entry tasks such as 10-key typing and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
