Genesis is seeking an experienced, PRN Radiation Therapist with solid clinical judgement and knowledge of radiation therapy practices and safety to work in our busy Cancer Center in Tomball, Texas area. Applicants must be dedicated to providing superior patient care, able to prioritize, organize and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must be able to support and educate patients while practicing exact ALARA principles during the delivery of radiation as prescribed by the physician.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and lead radiation therapist.
Accurately reviews and maintains patient treatment parameters into EMR to ensure the correct billing information can be submitted. Radiation Billing experience preferred.
Assists in maintaining the patient appointment schedule.
Accurately cuts blocks and/or makes custom molds, when applicable.
Accurately completes daily QA record.
Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
Maintains a clean, safe and organized work environment.
Comfortably able to perform simulations with minimal support.
Must have refined computer skills, including word processing, keyboarding and the ability to effectively utilize the computerized scheduling system and EMR.
Must have a professional appearance, be able to handle multiple tasks, be a self-starter and a team player.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program with ARRT Certification and licensed by the Department of Health as a Medical Radiologic Technologist required as well as actively practicing as a RTT.
Current CPR is required
