Overview: The Welding Supervisor is critical to our company's productivity and profitability. A welding supervisors’ job is to manage and supervise the entire welding operations. As the Welding Supervisor you are responsible for the quality of work, coordinating welding procedures and personnel, maximize efficiency while maintaining productivity, and ensuring his staff knows and follows all safety protocol.
Key Responsibilities: (include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

Screen and interview new hire candidates

Make sure all new employees are assigned a mentor and trained properly.

Coordinate staff to ensure they are knowledgeable in all safety practices, possible health hazards and precautionary measures

Identify training needs to ensure employees are able to perform the duties and responsibilities of their jobs effectively, receive necessary training outlined in their performance review/training record and are reported timely to Human Resources to maintain in employee's personnel file.

Conduct mandatory employee performance reviews and coaching sessions within a timely manner, within 30 days of due date. (90 day, quarterly coaching and then annually).

Remunerating workers and keeping them motivated and address any employee issues/concerns

Supervise and delegate work to all employees and monitor their work on a regular basis, including work hours
-
Requisition supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures
-
Estimate the cost of tools and equipment required in the process and oversee the procurement of these items keeping within the budget and maintaining the quality of the product
-
Inspects work and/or confers with the welder to maintain specified standards and quality.

Work with engineers to improve productivity and efficiency
-
Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work order, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations

Troubleshooting issues and providing technical support to the staff.

Communicating and being a liaison between the workers, engineers, designers, and technicians and maintaining effective co-ordination between them
Requirements:
Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

High School Diploma or GED
-
At least Five (5) years of welding experience.

Two (2) years of technical training, continued education.
- May substitute one (1) additional year of work experience for one (1) year of required education.

At least two (2) years of work experience as a supervisor or in a lead capacity.
-
Must own all tools required for the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:

Strength — (Heavy)- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
