Position Overview
The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the job site, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents, specifications, and company standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule all subcontractors, trades, and suppliers on site.
- Ensure work is performed per drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA standards, site-specific safety plans, and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety meetings, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Quality Control
- Review plans, specifications, and submittals to confirm installation requirements.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve construction issues before they impact schedule or budget.
- Communication & Documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for site-related matters between the owner, project manager, subcontractors, and inspectors.
- Maintain detailed daily reports of labor, equipment, material deliveries, weather, incidents, and progress.
- Assist in preparing RFIs, change orders, and punch lists.
- Scheduling & Coordination
- Support project manager in maintaining and updating construction schedules.
- Coordinate sequencing of work to minimize conflicts between trades.
- Ensure timely completion of project milestones and final turnover.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a site superintendent, foreman, or similar construction leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, codes, safety regulations, and project sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and submittals.
- Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Work Environment
- Full-time, project-based role requiring presence on the job site daily.
- May involve extended hours, weekends, or overtime depending on project demands.
- Must be able to walk, climb, and stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
