American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, requiring 1 year of MS/Tele experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Work on a 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit providing telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older
-
Unit staffed by specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses focused on preserving cognitive and physical function to help patients return to pre-admission baseline

Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs
-
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
-
13 to 26 week assignment options available
-
Active SC or compact RN license required
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
NIHSS certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience required

Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
-
Experience with IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management required
-
Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and management with remote telemetry monitoring

Experience with Heparin protocols required
-
Geriatric-focused care proficiency required
-
PCA and port access/management skills preferred
-
Previous charge experience preferred
-
First-time travelers require 2 years of specialty experience

Provide telemetry-capable nursing care to elderly patients focused on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay

Work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to geriatric care
-
Located at a regional teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
-
Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance requirements

Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials

First-time travelers considered with 2+ years of specialty experience
-
Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
-
Travelers must meet minimum distance requirements from facility to be eligible for travel assignment
