Purpose/Job Function:
The HR Coordinator plays a vital administrative and operational support role within the Human Resources department. This position supports HRIS administration, payroll and benefits processing, compliance reporting, and employee services. The HR Coordinator collaborates closely with managers, the HR Generalist, and the HR Director to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant HR operations. This role is also instrumental in maintaining data integrity, responding to employee inquiries, and enhancing employee engagement through cultural initiatives.
Essential Functions:

Maintain employee data in the HRIS (ADP or other), ensuring accuracy in records related to employment status, compensation, and benefits.

Assist managers in resolving timecard exceptions to ensure readiness for payroll processing.

Assist employees with benefit-related questions and concerns by:

Investigating issues related to eligibility, enrollment, billing, and claims

Acting as the primary liaison between AFS employees and the benefit broker to ensure timely and accurate resolution of benefit inquiries

Support payroll preparation by updating pay changes, position updates, and other relevant data in the HRIS.

Run ad-hoc and scheduled reports as needed to support HR functions and audits.

Support 401(k) administration by organizing and submitting requested data for audits and compliance reviews.

Contractor Onboarding Coordination: Completing and maintaining the contractor onboarding checklist and ensuring that all required documentation is collected, verified, and stored appropriately before the start of services

Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Manager to screen candidates and coordinate interviews for non-exempt positions, ensuring timely communication and scheduling alignment

Complete administrative onboarding tasks for new hires, including but not limited to creating welcome graphics, ordering business cards, uploading documents into the HRIS, etc.

Process HR mail, update tracking log, and scan/upload documents to the appropriate drives and/or systems
Qualifications and Requirements:

Working knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now).

Understanding of payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Education/Experience:
-
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in an HR support or coordinator role.

Prior experience with HRIS systems, including updating benefit records, plan details, and rate tables during open enrollment.
Working Conditions: This position will be sitting in front of a computer for long hours at a time and may cause eye irritation or even muscle strain.
This position does not require any strenuous or physical activity.
Customary Work Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends for special events.
