Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional face to face customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, preparing orders and contributing to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail and food service environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Engage customers about new items and promotions.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
- Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to provide informed recommendations.
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and organizing displays.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Uphold store cleanliness and organization standards throughout the shift.
Skills
- Previous experience in a convenience store or retail sales environment is preferred.
- Strong cash handling skills with basic math proficiency for accurate transactions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, ensuring clarity in interactions.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries via phone when necessary.
- A proactive approach to upselling and promoting products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience and empathy towards customers' needs.
- Ability to cross train on all aspects of store operation and shifts.
