Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to ensure food safety and efficiency
- Assist with menu planning by providing input on dish preparation and presentation
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food quickly and accurately
- Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented attractively for service
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and meet customer expectations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, demonstrating strong culinary skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, knife skills, and meal assembly
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and serving in a fast-paced environment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and a positive attitude toward continuous learning
