Position Overview
The City of Philadelphia is seeking an experienced 911 Systems Consultant to support and maintain critical emergency communications technology for the Philadelphia Police Department. This position serves as the primary technical resource for mission-critical 911 systems, ensuring system reliability, coordinating with vendors, supporting modernization efforts, and maintaining uninterrupted emergency operations.
Responsibilities
- Support daily operations of the City's 911 technology platforms.
- Monitor and maintain CAD, radio, call handling, and call logging systems.
- Coordinate with vendors on upgrades, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Develop plans for technology enhancements and infrastructure improvements.
- Participate in procurement activities including RFPs, RFIs, and vendor evaluations.
- Oversee testing, deployment, and validation of hardware and software.
- Ensure vendor deliverables and SLAs are met.
- Forecast technology infrastructure and staffing requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through IT initiatives.
- Assist with deployment and troubleshooting of 911 hardware and software.
- Participate in after-hours major incident response.
- Attend regional and state 911 technology meetings to stay current with industry developments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of professional IT experience.
- At least 5 years managing complex technical environments.
- Experience supporting emergency communications or 911 systems.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT operations and infrastructure.
- Experience managing technical vendors and service providers.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $76,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
