Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting our consumers safely and efficiently, while providing exceptional customer service. The Transport Driver will be required to operate a variety of vehicles, including regular passenger vans and wheelchair vans. Must meet prerequiste of 1 year working with disabled/elderly or childcare before applying.
This is a SPLIT SHIFT.
Morning: Monday - Friday (6:00 AM - 8:30 AM)
Afternoon: Monday - Friday (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM)
Pay: $16 hr
Duties
- Safely operate a van, ensuring that all passengers arrive at their destination on time and in good condition.
-Assist clients in getting in and out of the van
- Provide excellent customer service and ensuring that passengers have a positive experience.
- Plan and execute routes efficiently, considering traffic, road conditions, and time constraints.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including regular checks of tires, brakes, and fluids, to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including adhering to speed limits and maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles.
- Handle any issues that may arise during transport, including mechanical problems or unexpected delays.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring that all passengers have a comfortable and safe ride.
- Document all trips, including start and end times, route taken, and any issues that arose during transport.
Experience
- Proven experience driving a van or bus with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with passengers, family members and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Experience with vehicle maintenance and repair is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Previous experience driving transportation/passenger van
- 1 year experience working with the elderly, Special Needs Adults/kids, or the medical field.
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Pass a level 2 Background check
- High School Diploma
- Complete Agency required training
- Pass drug screening- Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
