Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and sterile.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, blood differentials, and platelet counts.
- Induce, maintain, and monitor patients under anesthesia and during recovery
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Utilize proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including proper disposal of waste and sterilization of instruments.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Perform dental radiographs and cleanings.
Experience
Preferred candidates will possess the following skills and experiences:
- Previous veterinary technician experience or relevant certification is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary diagnostics.
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with animal catheterization, restraint methods, and X-ray procedures.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
