The Athletics Camp Instructor provides daily guidance and leadership for youth sports camps. This position leads groups through structured daily activities, actively participates with campers, and ensures a safe, engaging, and inclusive recreational environment. The instructor is responsible for supervising campers at all times and may occasionally assist in planning and organizing camp activities.
This person may work up to 40 hours each week during the summer months (June to August).
Minimum Education and Experience:

Experience working with children ages 4–15 in a recreational, educational, or athletic setting.

Knowledge of basic First Aid and CPR (certification preferred or willingness to obtain).

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Knowledge of a variety of sports and athletic activities.

Experience working with children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT):

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Ability to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
