Our projects include LED lighting upgrades, HVAC improvements, building automation systems, weatherization, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, and other energy conservation measures.
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple energy projects throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. This is a field-based position requiring regular travel to customer sites.
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing multiple turnkey energy efficiency projects from kickoff through closeout. This role coordinates subcontractors, vendors, customers, utility representatives, and internal staff to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Strong communication skills are essential. Our customers expect consistent updates, and the Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, electricians, HVAC contractors, controls contractors, insulation installers, and other trades.
- Develop and maintain project schedules while proactively identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts.
- Conduct site visits before, during, and after installation to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and coordinate construction activities with customers and facility personnel.
- Provide customers with weekly project status updates, including schedule, progress, upcoming milestones, and any issues requiring attention.
- Track project budgets, labor, materials, change orders, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure equipment is available when needed.
- Maintain communication with utility program administrators and inspectors as required.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and customer requirements.
- Identify potential project risks and implement solutions before they impact schedule or budget.
- Complete project documentation, closeout paperwork, and final customer walkthroughs.
- Work closely with EMC's sales, engineering, estimating, and administrative teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls, or energy services.
- Experience managing multiple active projects simultaneously.
- Ability to coordinate numerous subcontractors and vendors.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to read construction drawings and project specifications.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Energy efficiency or ESCO projects
- LED lighting retrofits
- HVAC systems
- Building automation systems (BAS/BMS)
- Electrical distribution upgrades
- Weatherization and building envelope improvements
- Utility incentive programs
- Municipal, K-12, higher education, healthcare, or commercial construction

Travel Territory: Primary travel throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, including but not limited to Woburn, Lawrence, Billerica, Chelmsford, Andover, Wilmington, Methuen, and Lowell, MA, as well as Salem and Londonderry, NH.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
