We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to support our team of Veterinarians and LVTs. We are passionate about helping pets live happier, healthier, longer, and pain-free lives and you will help us ensure we achieve this mission for every patient.
Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities
- Get patients in the exam rooms, get history, and basic vitals.
- Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
- Feed, groom, and weigh animals
- Clean cages, exam rooms, and facility when needed
- Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
- Soothe upset or frightened animals
- Administer medication under supervision
- Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Vet
- Help with sugical and general anesthesia setup
- Help in cases of emergencies
- Keep accurate records and logs
- Acquire/maintain Vetenriary Medication Clerk Certification within 3 months of hire. (We will help with the process)
- Maintain a self-assessment and improvement list.
Veterinary Assistant Skills
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar position working with animals
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to follow instructions properly
- Comfortable being around animals (cats, dogs)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)
- A high school diploma is required
- A Veterinary Assistant Certification is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
