General Cleaner - 2921
Position Summary
The General Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of assigned areas within the facility. This role performs routine and detailed cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for building occupants.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Daily Cleaning Tasks

Sweep floors, corners, hallways, and entryways

Dust mop and wet mop hard-surface floors using approved cleaning solutions
-
Vacuum carpets, mats, and walk-off areas
-
Remove trash from all receptacles; replace liners and transport waste to designated collection points
-
Dust surfaces including furniture, ledges, vents, fixtures, and high-touch areas
-
Sanitize surfaces such as desks, counters, tables, door handles, railings, and common-touch points
-
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, mirrors, partitions, and fixtures
-
Replenish consumables such as paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and sanitary supplies
-
Spot clean walls, doors, glass, and other surfaces to remove marks, fingerprints, and spills
-
Clean interior glass including entry doors, sidelights, and interior windows
Periodic & Detailed Tasks
-
Dust high surfaces including vents, lights, and tops of partitions
-
Clean baseboards, corners, and edges to remove buildup
-
Wash walls and remove stains or residue
-
Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, and reporting issues
Safety & Compliance
-
Follow all chemical handling procedures and use PPE correctly
-
Use proper dilution ratios and approved cleaning products
-
Place wet floor signs and hazard markers to maintain a safe environment
-
Report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or unsafe conditions
-
Adhere to company safety policies, SDS guidelines, and cleaning protocols

Physically able to bend, reach, stoop, lift up to 30 lbs, and stand for extended periods

Preferred Experience

Previous custodial or general cleaning experience

Familiarity with commercial cleaning chemicals and equipment
