Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, managing reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using OpenTable or similar systems.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process sales transactions smoothly.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality, including cocktail service and wine knowledge.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales through effective suggestive selling techniques.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments swiftly, and give correct change while adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and ensuring food safety compliance.
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; experience as a host/hostess or cashier is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is desirable; basic math skills are essential for processing transactions accurately.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation enhances your suitability for this role.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy hours while maintaining attention to detail in serving and guest interactions.
- Hospitality or food industry experience that demonstrates your ability to thrive in a lively restaurant environment.
