Ready to make a splash in your career?
You don't need twenty years in the trade. You need to show up, get your hands dirty, and care about the person whose house you're standing in. We'll teach you the rest.
We take pride in delivering top-notch customer service and quality workmanship. Our values aren't a poster in the break room — compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence are how we run every call. When someone's home floods on a Sunday, we're the ones they call, and the ones they call back.
You'll run residential and light commercial drain calls with the Lead Technician backing you up. Main line backups, kitchen sink backups, toilet backups, tub and shower backups. Some days that's a cable and a clean cleanout. Some days it's a camera, a locator, and a hard conversation with a homeowner about a broken line under their driveway.
The job isn't just moving water again. It's figuring out why it stopped — and making sure the customer understands what you found.
Every call runs about the same shape:
Show up ready. Truck stocked, equipment tested, scope of work read before you're in the driveway.
Protect the home. Coverings down, containment up, shoes handled. Compassion means treating someone's house like it matters, because to them it does.
Clear the backup. Cables, jetters, cleanouts, roof vents, pull-and-reset — whatever the line calls for, done safely and done all the way.
Find the cause. Camera it. Locate it. Roots, grease, a belly, an offset, a break, or a kid's toy — name it before you leave.
Give them the truth. Show the footage. Explain it in plain English. Quote what you're cleared to quote and hand off anything bigger to the Lead Tech. Nobody at Olson Superior sells a repair a customer doesn't need — that's what accountability means here.
Close it out clean. Work area better than you found it, photos and notes filed before you pull away.
You've got a year or so of drain work behind you — or you've turned wrenches somewhere else and you learn fast. You can run a cable and you want to learn jetters, cameras, and locators. You've got a clean driving record. You can handle 75 pounds, crawl spaces, attics, and August heat.
Mostly, you can stand in a stranger's kitchen on their worst morning and be the calm, respectful person in the room.
Camera and locator time. Jetting or descaling. Any exposure to sewer repair or trenchless work. Practice walking a homeowner through their options.
This is a first rung, not a dead end. You'll work complex jobs alongside the Lead Technician, take coaching, and apply it on the next call. Techs who show excellence in the field move up to Senior Drain Technician or into install work — and we'd rather promote you than hire over you.
