Key Responsibilities of the Mammography Technologist
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures in accordance with departmental protocols
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal imaging results while ensuring comfort and dignity
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and quality assurance standards
- Review image quality and ensure accuracy before submission for radiologist interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and complete all required documentation
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards for mammography services
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Maintain and perform routine checks on mammography equipment
Requirements of the Mammography Technologist Role
- Current BLS certification
- Current ARRT certification with Mammography credentials
- Minimum 2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience
- Strong knowledge of breast imaging protocols and radiation safety procedures
- Excellent communication, technical, and patient care skills
