Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Company OTR Driver specializing in hazardous materials transportation! This energetic role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across extensive over-the-road routes. You will be responsible for safely delivering freight, including hazardous and temperature-sensitive cargo, while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Duties
- Safely operate refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other commercial trucks along designated OTR routes.
- Load and unload freight with precision, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.
- Navigate routes using GPS systems to optimize delivery times while maintaining safety standards.
- Transport automobile parts or other freight efficiently across long distances, ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each trip.
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling, truck loading/unloading procedures, and hazardous goods transportation to ensure a secure work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Prior delivery driving experience with a focus on route driving across long distances.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, and freight handling equipment.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR).
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading tasks.
- Experience navigating GPS navigation systems effectively during long-haul trips.
- Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to driver hours of service and safety compliance.
