Job Summary
The Business Office Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of business office functions, including registration, scheduling, medical records, billing, collections, and insurance verification. This role ensures accurate financial processing, timely charge capture, and exceptional customer service. The Business Office Lead supports compliance with regulatory standards and provides guidance to assigned staff to ensure operational efficiency.
Essential Functions

Leads business office operations including patient registration, appointment scheduling, billing, collections, and medical records processing.

Oversees insurance verification, charge entry, and up-front patient collections.

Ensures timely and accurate submission of billing and supports cash collections and accounts receivable (AR) management.

Monitors key performance indicators, such as AR days and collection rates, and identifies opportunities for improvement.

Supports training, mentoring, and performance oversight of business office staff.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains business office policies and procedures.

Ensures positive customer service interactions and communication across all front-end functions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
1-3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare business office required
-
1-3 years of experience using patient financial systems (e.g., Amkai, HST, Vision, AdvantX) required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency with patient registration, billing, and collections processes.

Ability to guide, mentor, and support a business office team.
-
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to interact with patients, providers, and staff.

Familiarity with healthcare billing systems and front-end revenue cycle workflows.

Proficiency in using computers and office software, including Google Sheets and Docs.
