Payroll and HR Generalist Key Requirements:
- At least 2 years of HR experience required
- At least 2 years of payroll processing experience required
- Strong understanding of payroll rules, processes, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of HR laws, employment regulations, and best practices
- Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, interviewing, benefits, and general HR administration
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs, or willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills
Payroll and HR Generalist Main Responsibilities:
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for over 200 employees across multiple locations
- Validate payroll data, process timecards, and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support employee relations by assisting with employee questions, concerns, documentation, and follow-up
- Assist with interviewing, candidate communication, interview coordination, and hiring support
- Support onboarding, employee orientation, new hire paperwork, and ongoing HR support
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Assist with benefits administration, including insurance enrollments, changes, and related HR documentation
- Maintain employee records and help ensure compliance with internal policies and employment requirements
- Support HR projects, employee engagement initiatives, and process improvement efforts
- Collaborate with HR team members, management, and employees to ensure smooth payroll and HR operations
