North Florida Education Services (NFES) was founded in 2021 in partnership with our sister organization, North Florida Therapy Services (NFTS), which was founded in 2012. Our mission is to provide a wholistic educational learning experience for all children from infancy to 8th grade using a comprehensive model implemented in our classrooms based on the active engagement of learning through developmentally appropriate play and hands on learning opportunities that are insightfully planned and scaffolded by our educational team.

This position will start August 10, 2026.
Position Summary:
The paraprofessional provides instructional and personal care support to students in a classroom setting under the direction of certified staff. This position assists in the implementation of instructional programs, supports student behavior and engagement, and attends to the health, safety, and personal needs of students to ensure equitable access to learning. In addition, Paraprofessional should be able to conduct lessons and effectively manage the classroom in the teacher’s absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in the delivery of instructional activities, preparation of materials, and classroom management.
- Provide academic support to individual students and small groups, reinforcing instructional content and monitoring student progress.
- Support individual education instruction and behavioral support to students with developmental, cognitive, emotional or physical disabilities in a classroom setting under the direction of certified staff.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, playgrounds, restrooms, and during arrival and dismissal.
- Assist students with personal care needs, including but not limited to bathroom assistance, diapering, feeding, and other hygiene-related tasks, while maintaining student dignity and confidentiality.
- Monitor student behavior and implement behavior management strategies as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as assigned.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and administrators to support student learning and development.
- Participate in BSP meetings if requested by BCBA and/or caregivers, staff meetings, and professional development trainings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the instructional program and overall school environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Prepare and organize instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.
- Provide academic guidance to students while promoting independence and critical thinking.
- Help monitor and record student progress as directed by the teacher or administrator.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and during transitions.
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive atmosphere for all students.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, and other staff to support classroom and school goals.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, students, and families.
- Share observations and insights with the supervising teacher regarding student needs and progress.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning student records and personal information.
- Exhibit patience, empathy, and respect in all interactions.
- Follow directions from the supervising teacher and school administration.
- Uphold district policies, ethical standards, and professional conduct guidelines.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
- Support students with physical, mobility, or personal care needs as assigned.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns immediately.
- Promote inclusion and equity for all students.
- Demonstrate reliability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to perform personal care duties, including bathroom assistance and diaper changes.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to bend, lift, and assist students with mobility and personal care needs.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and engage in physical activity to support and supervise students.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Comfort with providing toileting, diaper changing, and hygiene care in accordance with health protocols.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
