Job Overview
The Funeral Home Manager oversees daily funeral home operations, ensuring compassionate, professional, and compliant delivery of funeral, cremation, and memorial services. This role provides leadership to funeral directors, embalmers, crematory operators, and support staff; maintains regulatory compliance; manages workflow and resources; and ensures exceptional service to families and the community in alignment with company standards, policies, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides daily leadership, guidance, and support to funeral directors, embalmers, advisors, and administrative staff.
- Ensures all services, arrangements, and care of the deceased are performed in accordance with company standards, state and federal regulations, and ethical best practices.
- Oversees scheduling, staffing, workflow distribution, and on‑call rotations to ensure adequate coverage and smooth operations.
- Conducts regular reviews of service quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance with vital statistics, health regulations, and funeral service laws.
- Maintains a positive, professional business environment and fosters a culture of accountability, compassion, and teamwork.
Experience
- Graduate of an accredited mortuary science program.
- Current Funeral Director and Embalmer license in Washington State.
- Valid state driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
- Prior funeral home experience required; supervisory or management experience preferred.
