Overview
We are hiring an Outdoor Cultivation Farm Hand Assistant to support daily operations at our cannabis farm in Prosser, WA. This is a year-round, hands-on role focused on outdoor cultivation. Team size varies by season—working with a small crew during the off-season and expanding to a large harvest team (up to 100 people) during peak harvest.
This position is ideal for someone who lives in Prosser or within a commutable distance and is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Duties
- Assist with planting, pruning, harvesting, and trimming cannabis plants to ensure healthy growth and optimal yields
- Operate farm machinery such as tractors, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain greenhouse environments by managing ventilation, lighting, watering systems, and climate controls
- Conduct regular inspections of crops for pests, diseases, or deficiencies; implement integrated pest management strategies
- Assist with irrigation setup and maintenance to ensure consistent water delivery across growing areas
- Use hand tools and power tools for various farm tasks while adhering to safety protocols
- Support general farm maintenance including cleaning work areas, repairing fencing, and handling heavy lifting as needed
- Collaborate with supervising staff to follow cultivation schedules and meet production goals
- Assisting with harvest logistics, crop handling, and post-harvest cleanup
- Working safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions (heat, wind, dust, uneven terrain)
- Following all Washington State cannabis compliance and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Must be 21+ years old (required by WA State cannabis regulations)
- Able to perform physical labor for extended periods (lifting, bending, standing, kneeling)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Previous cannabis cultivation experience is preferred but not required
- Agricultural, farm, or outdoor labor experience is a plus
