Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Skills:
- Dog training experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and perform physical tasks associated with animal care
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures and terminology is a plus
- Previous experience in pet care, pet sitting, or dog handling is beneficial
- Strong customer service skills to interact with pet owners and provide information about their pets' well-being
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
