Do you want your work to matter?
At People Now Health, we support individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, and health challenges to live fuller, more independent lives. Our Direct Support Professionals are the heart of that mission. Every shift, they help someone learn a new skill, feel safe, be treated with dignity, and know they matter.
This is more than a job. If you find real meaning in caring for people with special needs — if you're the kind of person who celebrates small victories and shows up for others — we want to meet you. We'll invest in you with paid orientation and paid training, and we'll surround you with a team that genuinely cares.
What you'll do
You'll build a trusting relationship with the individuals you support and help them through daily life with patience and respect. Your day-to-day includes:
- Assisting with personal care, hygiene, meals, mobility, and self-care skills like eating, dressing, and grooming
- Encouraging independence while keeping everyone safe
- Following each person's individualized care and support plan
- Providing basic first aid and simple nursing care as trained
- Supporting positive behavior and emotional well-being
- Observing, recording, and reporting how each person is doing so the whole care team stays informed
This role is right for you if
- You have a genuine passion for working with individuals who have special needs, and you treat people with warmth and respect
- You are dependable — you show up, on time, ready to give your best
- Your schedule allows you to reliably meet your assigned shifts without conflicts
- You are patient, observant, and communicate well with the people you support, their families, and your teammates
- You are comfortable with the physical, hands-on nature of caregiving
Schedule expectations — please read before applying
This is a full-time position, a 40 hours shift and weekend availability is an add-on if you want. Reliable, consistent attendance is essential — the people we serve count on their support being there. Please apply only if you can commit to a full-time schedule and are free of conflicting obligations that would prevent you from meeting your shifts.
Nice to have (we'll help you get there)
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, autism, or developmental challenges is a plus. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, Therapeutic Options, and HIPAA training are highly valued — and if you don't have them yet, our paid training can help you build them.
