Part-Time Therapist –
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Schedule: Part-Time (Approx. 12- 15 hours/week), Evening Hours 5-8pm, with some day time availability offered for group facilitation if interested.
Compensation: To be discussed during the interview.
Position Overview Tennessee Valley Recovery is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Therapist to join our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role involves providing both group and individual therapy services to adult clients experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, technologically adept, and passionate about supporting clients in recovery and emotional wellness.

● Facilitate structured group therapy sessions (approximately 6 groups per week)
● Provide clinical intakes and individual therapy sessions as clinically indicated
● Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
● Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation (progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries)
● Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF)
● Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
● Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed
● Assist with collection of UA screenings for SUD clients Qualifications
● Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
● Active or eligible for licensure in TN (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
● Experience working in IOP, PHP, or outpatient settings preferred
● Strong group facilitation skills
● Knowledge of evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
● Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Preferred Qualifications
● Experience working with co-occurring disorders
● Familiarity with trauma-focused therapies
