Heavy Duty Mechanic
MHK Equipment Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Candidates must have prior diesel repair experience and possess applicable state certifications.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master Mechanic Certification; however, MHK is willing to support the right candidate in obtaining additional certifications required for advancement. Applicants must be capable of obtaining required certifications upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Inspect trucks, trailers, engines, transmissions, and equipment to diagnose mechanical issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance to maximize reliability and performance
- Troubleshoot reported problems and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Conduct preventative maintenance services on trucks and equipment
- Clean, lubricate, and service mechanical components
- Replenish fluids and replace worn or damaged parts
- Provide recommendations on proper maintenance and preventative care
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and various hand and power tools
- Ability to read service manuals, blueprints, and technical instructions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma preferred
- Vocational training, apprenticeship completion, or college degree is a plus
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and certifications.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
