Purpose of the Position:Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff within the Douglasville Public Health Center. Provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures in the areas of Immunizations, Child Health Screenings, Women’s Health, Sexual Health, HIV Prevention, Hypertension and others. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs in case of disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Responsible for daily operations and employees. This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
Essential Functions (include, but are not limited to):
- Provides treatments, administers medications/vaccines and provides preventive and maintenance care to patient/families consistent with care plan and/or physician treatment plan.
- Screens and refers clients to other community service providers.
- Participates in drills and exercises on pandemic influenza, mass sheltering, and mass dispensing.
- Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.
