CUMBERLAND SERVICES, LLC has a position available at our Kingsland, GA, location for a full time, Garbage Truck Helper and Yard Attendant. Wages negotiable $12-17 per hr(depending on experience). Averaging 8-10 hours; to an applicant who is able to drive small to large vehicles (some where CDL or DOT card is required); and to help clean/wash vehicles, grease vehicles, cut the grass/landscaping, move/paint containers etc
Applicant would be responsible for collecting 95 gallon roll-carts at the curb, rolling them back to the rear load truck, and operating the rear load truck's compaction system. Also for loading large bulk items from the curb such as couches, white goods, etc Applicant would work 8-10 hour days M-Friday each week (occasional Saturdays). Applicant would also be expected to work around the shop for various odd jobs including but not limited to, cleaning, cart assembly, and yard maintenance.
Overall Strength Demands: Able to pull and push 95 gallon containers and hook them to the cart tipper. Able to walk and stand to a significant degree. Able to load large bulk items from the curb such as couches, white goods, etc

Overall Working Conditions: Disagreeable: Frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Environmental Factors: Daily exposure to extreme temperatures. Seasonal exposure to wetness and/or humidity.
Health and Safety: Occasional exposure to mechanical hazards.
Primary Work Location: Outdoors (Residential Daily Collections).
Protective Equipment Required: Gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat.
Non-Physical Demands
Frequently requires working closely with others as part of a team, tedious or exacting work, and noisy/distracting environment. Occasionally requires time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular schedule/overtime, and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Helper must be able to climb in and out of truck. Must be able to pull 95 gallon containers and hook them to cart flippers. Helper must be able to dislodge any debris that has become hung or stuck in the packer system of truck. Must be able to unlock truck body turnbuckles at landfill so the tailgate can lift and eject the load of garbage, after truck is unloaded, lower tailgate and lock turnbuckles. Helper must be able to enter the truck body in front of blade, using shovel, clean out front of packer blade at the end of each day. Required to clean the top of slide blade daily. Required to keep clean the outside and inside of the truck.
