We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Operations Manager to lead and grow our fire protection division. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both field operations and customer service within the fire protection industry. NAFED cert is preferred. Position Overview
The Fire Protection Operations Manager oversees day-to-day operations for our fire protection service team, including fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, emergency/exit lighting, and related life safety services.
This role is responsible for leading 7-10 local technicians and office support staff, driving operational performance, maintaining customer relationships, and supporting business growth. Work with local and regional partners in fire safety.
The ideal candidate has strong industry experience, leadership ability, and a practical understanding of fire protection service operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage fire protection field technicians and support staff
- Oversee scheduling, workflow, productivity, and service quality
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members
- Monitor KPIs, labor efficiency, and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, AHJ requirements, and company safety policies
- Maintain strong customer relationships and resolve escalated service concerns
- Support business growth through customer retention and industry relationship development
- Manage inventory, vendor relationships, purchasing, and cost controls
- Coordinate with sales and operations teams to ensure successful project execution
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training initiatives
- Assist with field operations when necessary
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership/supervisory experience in the fire protection or life safety industry
- Strong knowledge of: Fire extinguishers, Kitchen suppression systems (ANSUL, Amerex, Pyro-Chem, etc.), Exit and emergency lighting, Basic alarm, sprinkler, or backflow systems
- Experience leading service technicians or field operations teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Pass pre-employement drug screen and background check
- With support, obtain fire licenses within 6 months
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certifications or applicable licensing
- Experience managing multi-technician service operations
- Knowledge of inventory control and operational budgeting
- Experience working within commercial service environments

Base Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
