Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Licensed Property & Casualty (P&C) Agent / Customer Service Representative to join our team in an in-office capacity. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, advising clients on the best insurance coverage options for their needs, and supporting both new business development and the retention of existing accounts. The ideal candidate is personable, knowledgeable about P&C insurance products, and comfortable balancing sales goals with day-to-day client service.
Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Answer phone lines and greet customers in person as needed
- Evaluate the needs of potential customers and recommend appropriate insurance policies
- Generate new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, and generate referrals
- Explain insurance policies clearly and help clients choose the best coverage options
- Handle policy renewals and process claims
- Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and available products
- Accurately maintain client records and documentation in the agency management system
- Process payments, endorsements, and policy changes as needed
- Collaborate with team members and underwriters to resolve client issues promptly
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales and retention goals
- Provide a high level of professionalism in all client interactions
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid Property & Casualty insurance license (required)
- Proven experience as a Property and Casualty Agent or in a similar insurance role
- Excellent knowledge of property and casualty insurance plans and products
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and sales skills
- High level of professionalism and customer service skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- Prior experience with agency management software/CRM systems
- Established book of business or industry contacts
- Additional licenses or certifications (e.g., Life & Health) a plus
Work Hours
- Full-time, 35 hours/ week, in-office position
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday (specific hours to be confirmed)
