Job description
We’re hiring a Lead Welder to run our weld team. If you weld cleanly, build precisely, and can help others level up, we want to hear from you. We build premium shelves, hardware, and custom requests, so the work has to be repeatable and dialed. No “good enough.” No “we’ll fix it later.” This role is craft and leadership. You’ll weld every day, set the standard, train the team, and keep small issues from turning into rework and late orders.
What you’ll do
- You’re the point person for weld/fab quality and flow in your area — you help the team hit the plan and you call and correct issues early
- MIG weld steel components for shelves and related home furniture products
- Read shop drawings and follow specs
- Fabricate and assemble parts to standard—no “close enough” work, leaving your area
- Use grinders, saws, fixtures/jigs, and common fab tools safely
- Check yours and your team's work: first-piece checks, in-process checks, and clean handoffs downstream
- Keep your work area clean and organized
- Call issues early: bad material, out-of-spec parts, tooling problems, or anything that will slow the line down
- Lead and train team members to meet quality standards and on-time deliverables
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of welding experience (MIG required, TIG is a bonus)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing shop
- Can read prints and hit repeatable results
- Experience with jigs/fixtures and repeatable production work
- Reliable, on time, and steady under pressure
- Safety-minded and team-oriented
- Comfortable tackling custom requests with the same high-quality results
- Has experience applying lean manufacturing principles and can work with concepts like Kanban, Kaizen, 5S, and Andon
- Able to lift 80 lbs (team lift when needed) and work on your feet all shift
