Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Shift Manager to lead our restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food service management, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves overseeing daily restaurant functions, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including food preparation, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure a motivated and efficient team.
- Control inventory levels, monitor food costs, and implement effective inventory management strategies using POS systems like Spot On.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Handle cash management duties including cash handling procedures and reconciliation.
- Develop and implement operational policies to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Manage shift operations to ensure smooth service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to oversee food production, quality control, and presentation.
- Lead efforts in customer service excellence by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Participate in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control initiatives to meet business objectives.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, professional development, and leadership growth.
Requirements
- Proven 3 years management experience within the food industry, preferably in full service or casual dining settings.
- Strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety standards.
- Extensive knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; experience with cash handling is essential.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in supervising teams, training staff, and conducting interviews.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Experience in inventory control, budgeting, and food cost management.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including shift management, catering, bar services, banquet events, or hotel dining is advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
- Hospitality management background is preferred; experience in fine dining or casual dining environments is a plus.
