Job Summary
The Admissions Assistant provides administrative and operational support throughout the admissions and enrollment process while exemplifying the core values of Cardinal Newman High School. This position supports the Office of Admissions through clerical and organizational assistance, event coordination, ambassador program support, community outreach, and marketing collaboration.
Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Assist the Director of Admissions throughout the recruitment cycle and admissions process.
● Support general office operations within the Office of Admissions.
● Perform a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks for thedepartment.
● Support and participate in all admissions-related events, including setup,cleanup, check-in, registration, and post-event follow-up.
● Maintain the annual enrollment calendar.
● Manage and maintain inquiry and applicant records within the admissionsdatabase.
● Compile and maintain statistical records related to inquiries, tours,applications, enrollments, and acceptances.
● Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to track and evaluateenrollment trends, establish measurable goals, improve customer servicestrategies, and support process improvements.
● Support communication and coordination between the Admissions andBusiness Offices regarding financial and enrollment information.
● Assist in preparing regular recruitment and enrollment reports for schoolleadership, the Board, and the Enrollment Committee.
● Coordinate ongoing communications with prospective students andfamilies to promote the benefits of a Cardinal Newman education.
● Assist with the coordination and implementation of student shadow days.
● Coordinate registration processes in collaboration with the Registrar andBusiness Office.
● Support campus tours as needed.
Ambassador Program Support
● Support the Admissions Ambassador Program and assist with recruitment efforts throughout the year.
● Schedule and coordinate ambassador trainings and meetings.
● Maintain weekly communication with student ambassadors regardingupcoming events, shadow days, trainings, and related activities.
● Organize hospitality items and meeting spaces for admissions events.
● Coordinate ambassador scheduling for events, including Open House,Placement Test Day, Family Interview Days, and other admissions activities.
On-Campus Event Support & Coordination
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of admissions events, including:
- Shadow Days
- Open Houses
- High School Placement Testing
- Family Interviews
- Information Nights
- Orientations
- School Tours
- Support evening and weekend admissions events as scheduled throughout the year.
Community Relations Support
- Support the Director of Admissions with community outreach efforts, including:
- Partner school visits
- Community events
- Promotional material deliveries
- Attend and assist with community events as needed.
Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the Director of Admissions and the Director of Marketing & Communications to support ongoing communications promoting Cardinal Newman High School to prospective students and families.
- Assist with marketing-related tasks and promotional materials for admissions events and outreach initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Education
● Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in an educational setting preferred; admissions office experience strongly preferred.
- Broad knowledge of clerical, administrative, and office management practices.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and collaborative communication skills.
- Experience working with computerized information systems and databases.
- Strong organizational, operational planning, and project management skills.
- Experience with Blackbaud or other enrollment management platforms preferred.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
